Interesting observation on what's really going on in Ferguson. See linky
This article says 1 out of every 4 people arrested is an outsider. Doesn't that mean 3 out of 4 are locals.
So who is in control and at fault?
Can you blame the bad behavior of the majority on the minority?
If the 1 out of 4 was not there, would the other 3 be at Bible Study and PTA meetings?
Is the 1 somehow threatening the other 3, enticing them against their will?

I think each person who participates in the bad behavior is responsible for their own action. They may try to convince themselves, or others, that they have some valid and reasonable excuse. And there are those who are eager to accept an excuse that shifts the responsibility to someone else. Not me. Everybody has a choice, and nobody can make that choice for you. As long as we continue to shift responsibility, we will continue to see people acting irresponsibily.

Throwing rocks and molotov cocktails at police? That's alright... we know you're so frustrated.
Burning and looting local businesses? You poor baby... how we as a society have failed you.
Shooting people in the crowd? We're sorry... the government and police have done such a poor job communicating with you after this tragedy.

With mob bmentality being what it is, it only takes a few skilled instigators to whip up an otherwise controlled crowd into a frenzy when emotional issues are at stake. It worked well in Germany in the 30's too.

...and a few bad ones. One is moving. Moving means leaving family, huge emotional toll on kids (which likely means more violent criminals), and it's expensive! Also they can't just vote in representatives. In South Carolina, for example, the blacks are stuck voting for what they consider to be the lesser of two evils, because the democrats can never win, and if enough nutjobs vote the tea baggers could get it.

But, the points about rioting there.. I agree with.

But people have been moving since time immemorial. Even the people there as the sort of jobs they're qualified for moved out of St. Louis they migrated to areas where jobs went. As st. Louis and other cities gentrified and the rents became unaffordable, people had no choice but to move. This country and others in the world is nothing if not constant migration, nomads if you will. I'm sure it can be upsetting but I'm unaware of any correlation between moving and a tendency to violent criminal behavior.

A friend of mine emailed me a few vids of the rioting and its just like LA, a bunch of people destroying their own neighborhood because they think they will get away with it and get something for nothing {aka stealing}... It's a shame, I can tell you that I don't think I know one person who would partake in that behavior, "lets destroy someones property for all own gain because the cops aren't stopping us", I feel bad for any decent people who live in them areas or near them people if we do ever have a government collapse of any sort because they are going to be the first to get hurt... Its like in early grade school when the teacher left the room a few kids would act up and make noise or throw stuff at the black boards, then you go up a few grades and not as many do it, but then in high school there is still that one douche that still acts up when the teacher leaves the room... Well this is like that but in the schools in these neighborhoods a lot more than 1 person was still doing it in the 12th grade, so this just goes to show that when there is no one watching these people are going to act like animals and take advantage of any situation they can...

I personally think that the business owners of these places should be able to protect their stores with deadly force, I would sit inside with a semi automatic weapon and make sure no one destroyed my place...

Why can't they go loot a walmart???

Close, but no cee-gar.

... so this just goes to show that when there is no one watching these people are going to act like animals and take advantage of any situation they can...
It's not because nobody is watching. It's because they outnumber anyone who could stop them.

If there was one nearby, I'm sure they would have. You want a wal-mart flash mob?

Here's one last one, but there was no robbery.

It's not just blacks. We're all stuck voting for the lesser of two evils.
That's the problem, we're all in this together. But we don't know it.
We've been divided and conquered by the political process.
The politicians know how to play us, so, divided we fall.

If I ever heard or seen my kids do something like that first video the punishment would be until they turn 18, I would take their rooms apart, no doors, no tv, no radio, just a desk and a sleeping bag, I would make them wear $5 sneakers and plain green and yellow shirts and pants to school every day until they graduate, their heads would be shaved bald and not able to participate in any after school sports or dances, EVER!!! Maybe them kids have no parents dissapoint or to punish them, I don't know? That is not how people should act, that is wrong and IMO the local authorities should have taken that very serious, them people should have been hunted down and charged with what ever they could get to stick... If them people have the balls to walk in a store and just loot it like that because there is a lot of them they will do much more and worse in their life....

I have always said if you enter someones home or business with ill intent or uninvited the owner or keeper should be able to use deadly force, now sure them kids don't deserve to die for stealing soda and chips, BUT if they thought there was a chance they get shot, they would have to be pretty thirsty and hungry to take the chance....

I heard a story {I don't know the guy involved personally} but a town over from where my office is some teens {17-19} broke into a fenced commercial yard and were stealing stuff off the owners equipment, they installed fences so they were stealing drills, bolt cutters, tools, ect... Well the owner lived about 3 minutes away, he had a monitor at his house and seen then pull up so headed over there, his wife told him when they cut the fence and she called the cops, he obviously beat the cops there and they were still in the fence so he parked against the gate the cut open and locked them in, then he turned on the yard lights so he could see them... They had a nice pickup truck outside the gate {not sure what kind but it was like a year old}, so they were trying to cut another hole in the fence and hide their faces, lol... The owner of the property decided to destroy their truck, he bashed the windsheilds and all the glass out, smashed the body, popped tires, ripped up the interior, ect... The cops finally showed up and there was an issue... They never took anything off the property, they were only guilty of trespassing/b&e outdoor area so nothing serious but the owner had a ton of charges including malicious michief, destruction of private property, ect. They didn't arrest him but he had to fix the truck...

That didn't surprise me, all of that makes sense to me, he destroyed their vehicle, no matter the reason he did it... BUT what got me was the parents of the kids wanted to sue him because the kids were scared for their lives!!!! They wanted damages more than the vehicle they wanted like $750K for stress related damages because the kids were scarred for life, I am not sure how far it went as I said I didnt know anyone involved, but that IMO is where all these kids come from, @sswhole parents who don't know how to raise kids... Don't get me wrong you can raise your kids and they still do something stupid, BUT when you stick up for them after you are just as wrong as them....

Looting is just wrong, them people should be punished and when you loot you should be risking your life, I can tell you if someone passes my front door with out being invited and I feel threatened for myself or my family they will leave lying down... in a black bag... At my office the same goes, if we are there and someone throws a trashcan through the window and climb through the next person that comes in will be stepping on the first trespassers body...

He wasn't speaking of Ferguson as much. Since it's not one of the murder capitols of the US.
He was speaking more of these: Despite recent shootings, Chicago nowhere near U.S. ‘murder capital’ | Pew Research Center
A little bit of research will tell you who has been in charge in those cities.
Actually he was Rick. And, if he wasn't, then what relevance does that video have to what's being discussed here? How did you phrase it? "Hyperbole much?"

Here's some more non relevant research.

They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English. I can't even talk the way these people talk: Why you ain't, Where you is, What he drive, Where he stay, Where he work, Who you be... And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk. And then I heard the father talk.

Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth. In fact you will never get any kind of job making a decent living.

People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an education, and now we've got these knuckleheads walking around. The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal. These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids. $500 sneakers for what? And they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics.

I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit. Where were you when he was 2? Where were you when he was 12? Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol? And where is the father? Or who is his father?

People putting their clothes on backward: Isn't that a sign of something gone wrong? People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something? Or are you waiting for Jesus to pull his pants up? Isn't it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles [piercing] going through her body?

What part of Africa did this come from? We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa. With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap, and all of them are in jail.

Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem. We have got to take the neighborhood back. People used to be ashamed. Today a woman has eight children with eight different <nobr style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', arial; font-size: 12px;">'husbands' — or</nobr> men or whatever you call them now. We have millionaire football players who cannot read. We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs. We as black folks have to do a better job. Someone working at <nobr style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', arial; font-size: 12px;">Wal-Mart</nobr> with seven kids, you are hurting us. We have to start holding each other to a higher standard.

We cannot blame the white people any longer.

I am not sure where to place the blame, walmart, education, welfare, parenting, drug abuse, mental health, poverty????? I think fast food may also be to blame a little, it seems like that is where all these ignorant people get together to fight....

I can tell you this, I get stuck in youtube watching videos of ignorant people, if nothing else it is entertaining to be stunned at how people behave in public...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ytu2g_awdM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DcjsrRfnhZE
there are hundreds of them, lol

It used to be people of level heads would see a situation like this and try to mediate it with reason, now people just get their cameras ready, about 5 years ago we were at a friends wedding in a park fellow gym rat was getting married so there were some good size men around and outside the wedding an altercation started between 2 couples over a parking spot {1 black couple 1 white}, we were all watching {the wedding hadn't started, the wedding party hadn't even arrived yet} so after 2 or so minutes it was getting serious, and they were threatening each other, a couple of the guys we were with said things like "let them fight they're small they can't hurt each other" and "is someone filming this", thats when me and a friend of mine walked over and I said {more towards the black gentleman, not because he was black but because he was the agressor getting loud}, "excuse me can I talk to you for a second" he said "sure", I explained to him we were having a wedding and the camera crew and older people were about to show up, and could they please move the altercation to somewhere else in the park, not ruin a special day, blah blah blah... He replied by trying to explain himself when I noticed a child in his back seat, I stopped him and said "look man, your son is watching you act like this, think about how nervous he is and what you are putting him through" he agreed and got in his car and drove off the other couple, who I never even looked at did the same... They both looked like nice enough people, driving decent cars, dressed well, in a nice area, looked like they both planned nice days for their families but with out someone there to say "hey, this is nonsense, best case is - you ruin your day and the day of someone else, worst case? the skys the limit, does someone die here today, does someone go to jail??? For what? a parking spot? This isn't A Bronx Tale, turn around go somewhere else and cool off, enjoy the rest of you day and don't think about this oil stained parking spot for another second....

Now if I just whipped out my camera and started filming, that situation was going to get bad, one of them had a crow bar already on the seat with a kid in the back seat, the white ones girl looked very pregnant, and no one was backing down until it was over... But with a calm conversation some realistic thinking we got didn't solve anything but stopped something from escalating to something worse...

My wife says that all men should be neutered she swears that its our testicles that make us act like animals, lol... I obviously don't agree I think its the women that make us behave badly...
