I wanna get front tower speakers, but on a budget since I just spent a lot of money today on a new sub and bookshelf speakers.

Any recommendations:confused:??

If you have a sub why get front towers? do you have a center channel rite now, as mark said we kind of need to know what you have currently..

IMO you wont find a single 400 dollar tower speaker that will sound better then those Martin Logans, let alone a pair. You will read over and over again on this forum that if you have a decent set of bookshelves and a good sub woofer crossed over at the right frequency, it will sound just as good if not better then a pair of towers.
You already have an awesome set of book shelves in those Martin Logans, and while I'm not familiar with Dayton audio, I'm sure your sub is no slouch. If you spend 400 dollars on tower speakers for the front you are going to be stuck with a pair of surrounds that sound better then your front speakers, which makes zero since.
My advice would be to listen to zieglj01, jump on another one of those lx16's while they are still in stock so you can have 3 voice matched speakers across your front end. With your budget it is going to be very hard for you to find another speaker later on that will match up with ML's tweeter. As far as surrounds go there are tons of options...

Whatever you do, this one line is very sound advice. Having 3 matched speakers in the front, whether they are bookshelves or floor standing towers is important. I regret not having bought my center to match my sides in the front... I've now partially corrected this, with an "almost matching" speaker, but really wish I had a real match. I first noticed the importance of this when I started to use the SACD format; Even though it was a matched center, having a smaller center made for a different tonality, which, for movies, was somewhat okay, but absolutely messed things up for multi-channel music.

I now always recommend getting identical speakers, across the board, be it for stereo or for any multi-channel configuration. Whether they are towers or bookshelves, even if it's "just for movies". You never know what's the next level you will reach with this equipment. Doing it right from the get-go is always better.

one more vote for getting another identical LX16 speaker and use it as center.
there are several good reasons for that - LCR must match for best imaging. There no ML centers which 100% compliment LX16 and newer models significantly more expensive
For surround sound identical 5 speakers is the ideal setup
For movies surround speakers and your tiny budget do not allow nor require more ML speakers at the rear - just get something cheap and cheerful like these:
Philharmonic Audio

Would recommend checking out RBH Sound. Something like the 1266 SE/R which you can buy second hand very cheap since this brand is not too well know but gives excellent sound.

You certainly want to try to match the speakers as best as possible to get even sound across the soundstage. So get a ML center channel and use your book shelf speakers with the sub.
