I was going to post about giving Crown a fair shake on the repair process since they are simply top notch in CS but I see you already found out for yourself.

In 98 I had an IC150 from Crown (a pre-amp) where the pots were really getting noisy. I called Crown and they initially told me they didn't have replacement parts for a 20 year old product.

I get a call back a few days later: A tech had bagged parts for the IC150 at home. I send it in and for $68 plus they shipped back, they replaced all the pots!

I just think it's ridiculous to make a big deal about leaving an online forum. But it's even more ridiculous to come back after you said you were done.

People can change their mind. People go through rough patches. It can even come out in odd ways. I'm not going to start throwing any stones.

Well that makes me feel even better about buying a Crown amp to replace my EP4000. I'm just having a hard time deciding between the XLS1000, XLS1500 or the XLS2500. I'm learning towards the 1500.

My experience with Crown customer service has also been fantastic. Fine folks there in Indiana.
