Fuzz - glad the bulk of the move is over! That's always stressful. Hopefully you'll start to get settled in a feeling comfortable soon. Sorry about the speaker...but I'm sure that we'll get to see photos of it (and your new place!) in your system thread. :)

Glad that you're okay, man. In the a-holes defense, their job is to keep you from doing your job. They're probably thinking the same thing if/when the Australian military shoots back at them. :D

Joking aside, I hope the military is taking action to stop them. Stay safe.

Hi guys, thanks for the well wishes.

Bulleted pointed update:

-up for 22 hours yesterday driving, unloading, and organizing

-new building = Comcast not knowing why the internet isn't working so I have to call again and get them to send a tech out. I'm sure they won't charge me for that

- ate at a nearby sketchy pizza place yesterday, have had the runs ever since

-just returned the rental truck and found out 45 gallons of diesel ain't cheap

-loving the new place anyways :D

261 miles, about 4 hours in a car.

PS already have our first speaker casualty from the trip.
See you didn't listen to your girlfriend, when she wanted to sell all that junk.:D

Sorry to hear the bad news. I hope it wasn't that six foot long center channel.

Trust me she let me know about how much stuff I have all day yesterday. You know, after she arrived after the whole truck was unloaded.

I find myself once again thinking about buying a grill. As in the past, I'm sure it will pass.

This time, though, I'm not looking at the $900 stainless Weber Genesis, but rather the smaller (and more useful to me) Spirit model that is about $450. The side panels fold down, which is cool because I don't use those anyway. Heck, I could store that in the garage and wheel it right outside the side door to cook on the concrete slab. Hmmm.

Before I moved I had one of those, except the 3 burner model. Great little grill and I have no problem recommending them.

Cool, thanks! Did you look at them compared to the Genesis models? The grill grates look fancier on the Genesis (at least the stainless versions).

Why didn't you bring it with you? Was it too large for the new place? I'm assuming that you have a balcony.

We had looked at the Genesis models, but had limited storage space, and in the end decided that it just worth the extra money. After we got it and used it a few times we were really happy with it and didn't miss whatever extra the Genesis model offered.

We don't have a balcony, and even if we did we wouldn't be able to put a grill on it because they're too small and most places have a 20ft rule where you can't grill within 20ft of the building. Instead of a balcony we got a sunroom/dining room/breakfast nook. I happen to like it better because it gives us an extra 60sqft and the gf has come around now that she's seen it.

Also, won't have internet until Thursday at the earliest because there is some problem where the line runs into the building or out by the street because this place is so new. The USPS doesn't even have our address/road in their system yet.

Vegetable soup in the rice cooker...or pizza by delivery. One of life's great dilemmas, there is no doubt.
