I'm toying with this idea

It is a tough decision to let go of something you may like, especially with an item like speakers. If you really do like them you may consider buying a nice 2 channel amplifier and using them as a high end 2.0 computer speaker set up and possibly adding a decent sub later on down the road...
Sometimes though you just gotta ask yourself, "Am I really going to use these speakers?" If the answer is no, then it is probably time to let go. The initial shock of losing them may last a few days but after that you probably wont even miss them.

I've had this rack for a while. No copy here but maybe all the other new items qualify. Note all the old items on that rack.

We have some serious similarities. ;)

At one point, I actually also owned an EMO amp, sold it, then got ATI. :D

You know. Something came up this morning that I could do before selling my Marantz gear too. I was thinking since I don't have the need for a sub and by pass controls on the preamp... I could use my Marantz PM8004 as a Preamp connected to the ATI amp. I could sell off the P5 for more than the Marantz.... I will have to hook up the Marantz tonight to see how it works as a pre amp.
To be honest, I really shouldn't hear any difference.

Try a Denon AVR from Best Buy and play around w/ DEQ. But you would need an extra amp to bi-amp the SX-6300/R.

AVR? Are you still trying to convince/convert him? You think that is possible? Don't forget he can hear all sorts of differences!!:D

Just to get a taste of DEQ. Then if he likes, he can aim for a Marantz pre-pro.
