I purchased the sharp a few days ago from best buy but haven't been very happy. The flash lighting is bad and there is judder pretty often. I have a budget of $600 which is what I payed for the sharp open box. I can get the seiki from amazon.com for $589. Any thoughts? I know I can't buy something amazing in that range I just want to buy the best TV I can buy for $600 and it can't be less than 50."

I looked at them in Best Buy. Do you think I will get better image quality for that price range?

I think better than the Sharp you brought home and better than the Seiki.

Seiki = would not bother. Sharp and Vizio are comparable IMO, and I'd probably choose the M series Vizio over Sharp. For the E series Vizio (I own one) they're good for the price, but not as good as the M series for PQ and I'd say mid to higher level Sharps might be better, but you'd have to compare. Samsung has the best panels out there and Sony gets their panels from Samsung, so those would be my picks for best PQ.

If you are looking for a TV in the 50" range, then YOU WILL NOT BENEFIT FROM 4K!!!

Get a normal 1080p set if you are in the 50" range. You will not see the difference between 4K and 1080p.

+1^ unless you get over an 80" screen you will not benefit from 4k, let alone the lack of content. Also check out some of the Samsung plasmas.

Would make a nice monitor, though. :) I looked at those Seiki displays for that exact purpose, but the reviews don't give me a great deal of confidence.
