Roman Polanski's "The Ghost Writer"
A writer is hired to ghost the political memoirs of a former Prime Minister - but things just don't seem right. It's a mixture of mystery and political thriller, with a sullen aestetic. The story is interesting, the acting is great with Ewan McGregor as the writer, Pierce Brosnan as the Prime Minister and Kim Cattrall as his assistant.
Appeal to: The thinking type, who enjoys an artistic mystery, & those who appreciate clever dialog and beautifully lit cinematography. Not for if your in the mood for action or shoot 'em up.
Movie: 8/10
Video: 9/10 (film, soft, but lush.. nice use of depth of field and great lighting)
Sound: 7/10 (the dialog is clear, atmosphere is brought to life through the sounds, but, the material doesn't lend itself to any sort of demo material)
