It is in my neck of the woods, so I thought I would check it out. I was hoping for a few more vendors, but Marantz and Denon, Bryston and many others will be there, so I hope they have new gear to show.

The event is this weekend. I will be sure to take lots of pics, I might even take a few panels.

April 25-27th Westin O'Hare..and no I don't work for them :)

It looks like there will be lots of exhibitors: Exhibitors.

If I were there, I'd concentrate on speaker manufacturers, and try my best to ignore all the shiny, eye-catching, and very expensive electronics and cables. Of course, you need them all to produce sound, so most exhibitors team up and share rooms.

Be sure to stop by the Salk Sound (speakers) - AVA (amps, preamps, etc.) room 1248. In my opinion, it will be among the best you'll hear at that show.

Apoxna was great!
It was nice to hear so many things that you read about.
My most impressed list (no particular order)
Salk/AVA (Impressive sound from the Songtower for the price)
Vandersteen
ZU
Magico
Sonus Faber
Ariel (SP?)
(And of course the most of the big dogs - Focal, Dynaudio, etc)

I have to say I was really impressed with the MacIntosh MEN220 Room correction system. The demo was going on in two different rooms and the way it cleaned up the bass was incredible on analog tracks.

- It was a little depressing the fact that I could not afford about 50% of what they had to show, sorry 40k for speakers are a little out of my budget :)
- I will also agree with you on the Salks, they did sound quite impressive, especially at their price point

- Was disappointed that the Golden Ear Triton 1s were not on display, was really hoping for that, as I spoke to the owner from Saturday Morning Audio Exchange
- I was in a MacIntosh room and they had these speakers that just sounded amazing, trying to remember the brand, but I was really impressed.

Minor Disappointments

- Marantz will not be releasing any 2.0 HDMI Pre/Pros until next year

Additional News:
- Denon will be releasing a new AVR in the 2k Price range to be the bridge between the X4000 and the higher end model

All Great rooms, but I was primarily looking for speakers for my basement remodel which I am starting in June and they are all just too big. I really liked the Focal Europia? or whatever they were called.

I guess somehow I missed the seaton room..=(

I heard the JTR's but really wasnt quite sure what to think on them. They sounded good but just didn't push my buttons.

I believe the Focals were the Stella Utopia's.... they had huge traps from floor to ceiling in their room.
They did sound good.

Between Utopia's, the Magico's, and Dynaudio Evidence I can kind of see why you would spend that much money on a speaker if your pocket book was very well endowed.
All very different sounds, all great.
