Hello All,
Firstly I want to thank all my fellow members and gurus of the forum for sharing their invaluable wealth of knowledge.
I am going to setup my very first home theater in my home in the next couple of months. My media room specs (13Wx16Lx12H). Here is my current configuration. Please please share your thoughts/comments.
Usage:
75% - Movies, 25% - Music/TV/Games
Screen:
I have choosen to place the screen on the side of the room that has the door, so I am planning to go with a acoustically transparent screen to make use of most of the wall space. I am thinking of 120" Seymour Home Theater screen.
Receiver:
Marantz sr5008
Subwoofer:
SVS PB-2000
Front Stage:
Aperion Intimus 6-LCRs In-Wall (these will be placed behind the screen and with no backbox as Aperion mentioned these are infinite baffle speakers). Same speakers for L/C/R (Center in horizontal orientation)
Side Surrounds:
Aperion Intimus 4BP Bipole Surround Speaker Pair
Rear Surrounds:
Same as Front Stage. Aperion Intimus 6-LCRs In-Wall
Projector:
Panasonic PT-AE8000U
Additionally will be adding Auralex Styrofoam wedges for acoustic absorption.
Some of the other brands that I have investigated but not opted because of the below reasons:
Axiom - Little pricy for my budget
Ascends - Not suitable / Not possible for in-walls
Paradigm - Researched and found Aperions to be almost similar or better than these and also need to purchase backboxes
Have also researched James Loudspeakers / Revel / Noble Fidelity - I felt these would be an overkill for my little media room
Audioholics, Pundits, Gurus - please comment and suggest where I can improve and if the configuration sounds feasible.
Thanks in advance!
