Writing Instruments

Any fans out there with regards to writing instruments? I currently have a classic Mont Blanc Meisterstuck which some love and others hate, but looking for something smaller so Sheaffer, Pelikan, and other roller balls have gotten my attention. What are your favorites?

Not quite what you're after, but on the subject of pens:
This is my daily weapon of choice for taking notes. Try it and you'll be addicted to ultra-fine point

My current daily use pen is the Parker Vector, steel body. I really like the balance with the cap poised. I use it with the medium refills.

I have two issues with my current situation. First the refills are very scratch when new. It takes about a week or 5 pages of a full size notepad for them to stop scratching. I might try a bold refill when my current spare runs out. The other is that, any sweat or oiliness from moisturizer use leaves the barrel almost impossible to grip. This is really bothering me. The poised balance is what has kept me from getting rid of the pen long ago.

Hoping to find some ideas in this thread .

I happen to use a Sharpie pen in the stainless steel body as my daily driver. I tried to get into fountain pens a while back but that could've been an expensive endeavor.

I did pick up a few disposable fountain pens that I use on occasion but the ink spreads too much on regular notebook paper so I don't use it in class. Just a little something different...

I tried Pelikan fountain pens. Writing looks cool if you take your time, but proved too fussy and messy for daily use. Tried Mont Blanc and Pelikan roller balls. OK, but had trouble w/ ink globbing around the point. Messy. Ended up w/ plain old Cross ballpoint. Write well, feel good, clean, last a long time.

Heathen that I am, I found writing perfection in the humble Bic Atlantis. Inexpensive, feels good in my hand, and it writes well. I tend to prefer the black ones.

They look more like jewelry than serious writing instruments. The emerald one is beautiful.

For budget FP's they write really nice. I have a couple others with a thinner nib. I use the Uni's mostly and they are the best ballpoint pens I've owned. I love the gel grip on them.

Nope both are pens. I do own a couple with pencil with refills though. You should check out Kinokuniya in Manh. by Bryant park, nice pens and notebooks selections downstairs. I was there on my bday last year and bought a couple of Pilot Varsity disposible Fountain pens with a newer design than the pic I posted. http://www.jetpens.com/ is a nice online store as well.
