Parasound Emotiva opinion

That's the thing... I don't use Credit Cards.:)
To close it out... Just pulled the trigger on the XSP-1 Gen 2... And a big thanks to a few at Emotiva. The fully Balanced system along with all my other Emo gear should fill the void. To be honest, I really liked my USP-1 sound but didn't like the volume function on it. Now that is fixed along with other additions, the XSP-1 should be good. If not... in 30 days I will try the P5.
Thanks everyone for all the feed back. You have been great!
Now I need a few XLR cables... And it figures I just bought 5 RCA cables from Blue Jeans...

Paypal is my online friend...
That's funny because I refuse to use Paypal...

I hope it performs like it looks like it should perform. XLR connections are certainly a step up from RCA. I think you will like the physical connector much better than RCA's.

Thanks... I do have a novice question on XLR since I have never used them. Is the push tab for connecting or releasing the XLR cable.. ALSO, FOR XLR cables, are there bad and good ones.
I normally purchase my RCA'S from Blue Jeans and had planned on them again.

It's a retention tab. So you use it to release.

Blue Jeans also sells Balanced cables.

Well kudos to you for going back to Emotiva after being unhappy with them. From what I've read the XSP sounds better than the USP.

When was the XSP released? I don't need one so I don't have one.

Ugh you keep going back to Emotiva. Was hoping you'd try the Parasound to see what you thought.

Just like the Godfather; just when he thought he was OUT, they pulled him back in. :D

Parasound, ATI, McIntosh, Lexicon, Theta, Mark Levinson, Cary, Adcom, Sunfire, Rotel, Bryston, Anthem, Classe, NAD, etc. :D

eMathews problem wasn't a problem Emotiva unit. It was the initial follow up support and even that was taken care of to his satisfaction ( and a gen2 amp at that). This happens regardless of brand. Jim Salk has Emotiva, VanAlstine, and BAT amps. Guess which amp had problems for him? The highest end BAT.

He uses the XPA-2 to demo his speakers. That says something.

Emotiva did what they needed to do and it seems to have kept them a customer.

Joke is on me... Ha HA....... XSP-1.....vs XPS.... What a dumb ***. I don't even know what I am getting..

As for going back to Emotiva....They are a great company. Unfortunately I was dealling with someone there that wasn't the best.. That can happen any where. Once I spoke to the right person it was handled with care. I like the product, the people and I was happy with all my other gear.. The new preamp has my attention, so I wanted to give it a try. If it doesn't work out, I have 30 days at no risk. If so then Parasound will be the next item to go to...
Oh that and the fully balanced system is something I want to try.

Everything will most likely be just fine with Emotiva.

We just like to spend your money. :D

It actually doesn't say any more or less than anyone else using any other amp to demo his or her speakers.

Gene doesn't use an Emotiva amp to power his RBH 8T speakers in his house. That says just as much.

I didn't say it said more or less.

What I said:

Salk has Van Alstine, he has BAT, He has Emotiva. He uses Emotiva XPA-2 to demo his speakers.

Individuals can take away from that what they will.

Also this is what Gene does have to say about the XPA-1's on his Status Acoustics:

I did my best to sonically compare the XPR-1 with some of the more expensive and more prestigious amplifiers I had on hand that I recently reviewed, namely the Classe CT-2300 (MSRP: $6,500) and Pass Labs X-350.5 (MSRP: $11,000). Unfortunately I didn’t have a way to instantaneously switch between amps to give an accurate assessment. However, I will say this; I didn’t notice anything missing from the XPR-1 at low listening levels which I was most concerned with. At higher listening levels, the added power and dynamic capabilities of the XPR-1 were a big advantage when powering my reference speakers.

With the XPR-1, Emotiva has answered my calling to all manufacturers to build an ultra-high power, efficient and affordable mono-block amp that is robust enough to properly drive even the largest and most power hungry speaker systems on the market. The XPR-1 truly lives up to the “Reference series” name that Emotiva has reserved for their very best products. It is the Jedi Master of power amps that would make even an audiophile Sith Lord proud to own.

If you’re looking to build the ultimate two-channel system free of any compromises in dynamics, a pair of the Emotiva XPR-1’s should be on your short list of amplifiers that can live up to such a challenge. This is a safe purchase and a highly recommended one

The one thing I can tell you about Emotiva is it let's a middle class guys like my self listen to a good system that I can afford.. I like that. I have been into music since I was in grade school and have wanted a nice system since then too. AT 13 my parents got me a Sears rack system that I loved... I think RUSH played non stop on that. The first thing I ever financed was a entry level system from Circuit City to establish credit. 20 years later Emotiva allowed me to get into what I consider Hifi sound.. It may not be the best, but it's very very good.

I know. But Gene owns a Pass Labs amp. He could own Emotiva amps. But he does not. Money is not the issue.

It's like the Crown XLS 2500 amp. It would sound just as great as any Emotiva or Sherbourn amp.
