I was looking for a subwoofer to go with the system that I put together with help from some of you here. I purchased cambridge audio s30s as mains, s50 for the center, and recently added the s20 for surround because they were on sale for cheap money. Looking for a sub to complete my system I saw a local ad for a cambridge soundworks ps II. When I got to the guys house, I w as basically looking at a NOS subwoofer. Although the box was not sealed, it appeared as though it had never been out of the box. Plastic wrapped, manual, packing, all looked new. Not a mark on the sub. The guy bought it at an estate auction and was looking to make a few bucks. He only had a cheap sony receiver but hooked it up and it worked. I ended up buying it for $60. Does anybody know what if have and if I paid the right money for it?
Thanks,
Scott

Sorry, it's a psw II

Dunno about that "PS" thing, but does this look anything like it?

If so, it's basically part of a computer speaker system.

From what I can gather, if it is a psw2, you got way more sub than you need for home use, unless you want to do some demolition-remodeling. If its what I think it is, its meant for on stage use, clubs. If you have a huge room with vaulted ceilings, and a 20 amp dedicated outlet, you could run it. With bookshelf speakers it seems a bit overkill tho. 60 bucks seems cheap, you could probably flip it, make some scratch and buy something geared more toward home use. Pictures would be of some help.

I think you got it confused with something else...
That sub used to be part of 5.1 system... I guess it's ok, but $60 in working condition is about right price.

For someone's first sub, it's not a bad deal.
That was a $600+ sub at one time.
They made nice stuff at one time; then went down hill. Except for the radios that compete with the bose wave.
The Cambridge Sound Works is better for half the money.

No, that's not it. It is about 20 inches tall, 14 inches wide and 9 inches deep with a front faced 8 inch speaker. It is 400 watts in a sealed box. Gonna try and post pics.

This is in response to the post about the media sub. Anybody know how to put those quotes above your reply so people know which post you are replying to?
