Sorry, but I could not resist since I have nothing but time to figure this out before I buy. Are the HSU's under powered? that is the impression I am getting. I would say my room is medium at best, no more, and not open that much.:D

The Hsus are not underpowered. A high sensitivity driver and large cabinet mean they don't need a lot of juice to get loud. Pay attention to those measurements, the Hsu's have more output, less distortion, greater linearity, better long-term output, and less compression than the XV15s, all the while with less amplification. The VTF15h is a great illustration of why wattage do not matter, only end performance does.

Thanks shadyJ, this is precisely why I am here. I have very little understanding of all the stuff you guys post so it may as well be written in Chinese. Those HSU's are really looking good, thanks.

More money than I want to spend for duals. HSU seems to have plenty to offer for what I am willing to spend. Would I like to have the Rythmik FV15HP duals, you bet.

The VTF-15 has quite a bit more internal volume then the XV15, so it does not need as much power to produce good output. And before you buy into what Shady preaches, go to data-bass.com, read the Know-how tab and get a better understanding what all the data means and translates to for actual in room performance. The VTF-15 is the better sub but not the dramatic difference Shady would like you to believe. Both are great subs at thier price points. If your budget is 1500.00 then get dual XV15's, if your Budget is 2k then get dual VTF-15's.

Lol basshead, the difference is pretty significant. The VTF15h has fully half the distortion of the XV15. It has half the compression. It has much greater long term output capability. It has a much more linear response when pushed. It has more output when pushed, either in short term and especially long term. It has superior decay times. On top of all that, it has variable tuning and Q control. The only thing the XV15 has that the VTF15h doesn't is a longer warranty on the amplifier, and you can buy a matching warranty for the Hsu for $80 extra.

so for about $200 more, those XS30(duals) look tempting.

LOL Shady :)

Actually it is 100.00 for the warranty per Ken @ HSU. The XV15 maintains +/-3db during its 110db longterm compression sweep from 22-100hz. Yes the XV15 has more thd below 24hz and above 80hz but it is all 2nd order... I would take 25% 2nd order thd over 15% 3rd order thd. The main advantage the VTF-15 has is 2 port mode which helps give it a pretty good long term power advantage at the cost of extension and Q control. Also the HSU is a much larger sub with a lot more internal volume. As I have mentioned before the VTF-15 is a better sub and I have no problem with that because it should be for the extra 322.00 dollars more it cost(when factoring the upgraded electronics warranty).

I believe I said to get the HSU if it was in the budget a couple posts up so why are you still stirring the pot.

Dear OP, I don't know if you've seen HSU VTF-15h in person, but I did.
It's a (long) ported 15" sub - if this doesn't tell you much - its A MONSTER in every aspect. Just notice it's weight and size.

Start with one and add only if you really insane (aka bass addict)

I lack both money and the common sense...lol. There is something to be said about doing it right from the outset....the OP asked all the right question in another thread at AVS and decided on Rythmik...I can't say I blame him... because some character will come along and question his decision....with the Rythmiks there will be less of them...for sure....;)
