need with surround sound please?

need help picking some speakers? please? bought the aperion vsg center, but trying to decide on main speakers my budget is 3k . there is not alot of feed back on aperion speakers, can someone give me some other options? i listen to 50 percent movies 50 percent music, love nice clean sounding speakers.

I have the Verus Grand Center, and 4 Verus Grand Towers. I can tell you they sound great! You could save some $ by going smaller for the Surround L/R if you want. The Grand Tower surrounds are really not necessary for movies, and I personally just use the fronts for music, (stereo). Maybe the Verus Grand Bookshelfs would be fine for your surrounds, but I have not heard them.

I wanted towers for my surrounds due to the shape of my room. And on the occasion when I do choose to use multi-channel for music, they really do sound good. HOWEVER, don't forget the subwoofer. Until you're prepared to spend several thousand $ each for your fronts, you will need a sub. With $3k you can get 2 Verus Grand Towers and still be in the neighborhood for a nice sub.

thanks for ur input going to audition the grand towers , also already bought the svs pb 12 sounds amazing, should i power the towers with external sub or will denon x4000 be enough per channel?

The Denon is fine.

This is starting to get a little strange... I also have the x4000. It will do fine with the Grand Towers. I caught the bug, and did get an Emotiva XPA-5 to power my Center, Front L/Rs and Surround L/Rs. So the x4000 only drives my Surround Rear L/Rs. Honestly, I can't really tell much difference. (But please don't tell my wife I said that. ) Again, the x4000 will be fine.

And good call on your sub. Think you'll be really pleased with the system.
