Do I need a better source?

Was hard to see in the first pic I found, but on this one it does show them. I saw the multichannel inputs and figured it didn't when they weren't obvious.

So, for the PS4 and 360, use optical.
I wonder how many people plugged their banana's into them ac outlets?

How come 3.5mm to RCA instead of 3.5mm to Optical for the rest?
Because that would also still require a DAC (digital to analog converter) to go from 3.5MM to optical, though you could use a much cheaper one just to perform that change. With that type though, you would likely get no benefit out of doing it and you only have 2 optical inputs.

That's interesting, I thought it could go straight from the amp to the laptop via optical. Why cant it? Thanks, I'll stick with the RCA and get some of them cables then.

Is Jriver worth it?

If the laptop has optical then yes, you can do that, but as mentioned, you have the 360, PS4 and the laptop and potentially other devices and only two optical inputs. Unless you intend to add an optical switcher or swap them by hand frequently, my recommendation was to use the 3.5mm ones with just a cable.

Not familiar with Jriver so can't help on that one.

I will only be using one of the consoles, I was just saying I had both if one wasn't optical or it was essential in a way, I will probably use the PS4. That would leave one open right? You can get optical to 3.5mm jack so wouldn't that work or does it have to be optical to optical?
