+1, but he said he wanted to stay under 100.

Or is this the classic audiophile pushing of the envelope thing? Just like my wife finally agreeing to let me spend $1100 on new speakers, so I got my Dynaudio's for $1199? :D
Theres a difference between not being allowed it and not being able to afford it:p:D

Not quite, "classic audiophile pushing of the envelope thing" would be saying that 100 pounds speakers are all shite and OP should spend 500 pounds :D:p

Hmmm...

Point taken.

Perhaps I should have said audiophile with penny pinching Italian wife in tow...:D

Lewis, you must understand that a lot of what you have there isn't readily available here. We can only offer our opinions and your tastes may or may not agree with our tastes.

Whateve is mentioned you should listen to. In fact, Richer sounds like a nice place. Listen to EVERYTHIHG they have in your price range.

What you like may or may not be what we like and, who knows, it might be something we never heard of, or heard.

Yeah I understand, I just want a wider range of products to choose from. I want to get my choice right as it probably will be a long time till I get another set. I am going to do that and the more expensive ones, obviously not too much but if I find my favourite speaker on eBay, although say £100 over budget at retail, in my price range I will definitely be picking them up.

I see, they wont ship clearance item. Then just get S30 - you wont regret it
Cambridge Audio S30 Black | Speakers Per Pair | Richer Sounds

Also Why do you need new speakers at all if you Have older Jamo 170's? I am curious
Not tried the Jamo's at all yet so they could be awful haha and the speakers are just abit bigger than my bed (they will be going at the end) so there is barely any point in using them if it's just going to be a mattress in the way :p I'm getting a glass cabinet about the height of my bed, maybe more, so I will put some bookshelves on them and then it will be the perfect height :).

They're like £150+???
They are 99 at Richer Sound - if you want to pass them then pass them

I have owned the Cambridge S30 - and they are real good for the price.

Acoustic Energy, also makes good speakers

I can't get to Southampton so how could I possibly buy them?

Maybe friends or family?

However, shop Ebay for other options

Also a glass cabinet, can cause reflective sound problems.
I am going to, need to test them all in Superfi/Richersounds first this weekend or next then I will decide.

Also, really :( I hope they don't :( Is it serious??? How about blu-tac underneath it or some sort of mat?
