HDMI & Speaker Wire?????

Very new to audio so I don't know much but I love great sound. To go with my new plasma tv I'm looking at Vienna Acoustics Mozart floor standing speakers. Local dealer has included in my package:

Type 4 FR BFA Silver 10' speaker wire at $230 and
2.5% Silver HDMI Cable at $140

These prices are crazy! Are they necessary for these speakers? Are HDMI cables the same? Do I need $200 speaker wire?

Any help will be much appreciated!

Personally, I think that for normal home use, inexpensive generic wire will serve you just as well as these but, in the grand scheme of things, I've seen this stuff sell for much higher prices.

No. You do not and should not pay premium prices for speaker wire or HDMI cables. You can get cables that are perfectly fine at monoprice.com. For short runs of speaker wire (10' is relatively short), 16 gauge speaker wire is fine, although some people prefer 14 gauge. If you want the cables right away (don't want to have to wait for shipping), you can go to Best Buy/Radio Shack/Target and just buy their cheapest available cables as they will be sonically indistinguishable from the high priced stuff you're being sold.

As indicated. If you can return the cables, do so ASAP. But those less expensive cables, speaker and HDMI. Save that $300+ you paid premium for those cables.
Just stand up to the dealer and tell him yopu made a mistake in buying them, don't need them and you have some already that works just fine.

Fancy speaker wire will not do anything to transfigure/transform, the wire or
crossover network inside your speaker.

Because wire is cheap, I tend to use 14 awg copper wire.

For HDMI cable, I tend to look for the former expensive ones that are on close-out
pricing. If you can not find them, then buy one that looks like it will not break, when
you hold it and hook/connect your system.:)

After you return the over priced wire and get set up with something more suitable maybe you can post a picture of those viennas, I love the way they look so please show off your set-up.

Even Best Buy shoppers have caught on to the idea that HDMI cables should be a few bucks and not $100. Definitely find another shop.

I ordered some cables from Blue Jeans Cable, as a newbie, I ordered the wrong type - they recognized the error and sent me an email suggesting another option. In my book, that is excellent, personalized customer service!

That certainly is super to question a possibly wrong cable.

Parts Express has, IMO, the best value HDMI cable on the market. I've stopped purchasing shorter HDMI cables from Monoprice as they don't offer a passive cable of such quality. Most others go for big, thick cables which move all my gear around, fall out, and while they work, they are just silly to be using instead of this:
Super Slim High-Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet 6 ft. | 180-688

Priced between $5.00 and $6.50 with lengths at 1', 3', and 6'.

I have literally replaced a large storage box full of HDMI cables with a small cardboard box of cables that has over 40 HDMI cables in it.

I have tested these cables to 1080p/60 with a $10,000 HDMI tester without a single failure. Just a solid, lightweight cable, for a very fair price.

As far as I can tell they look like a non-branded version of the Sanus HDMI cables which cost significantly more:
