Hey all,
I just found this site and Dig it! I am an Electrical Contractor that is slowy getting into building home theatres and such. My current customer has a budget of 1800$ and wants a 5 speaker in ceiling system with sub. Any suggestions? They like Polk, any others I should look at? Any systems packaged together out there I could get?

Thanks in advance for the great site with awesome info!

I have looked at some angled front speakers but what about the center speaker? It all has to be in-ceiling no way around it, They are a great customer and all about movies and sports in this particular room, usualy I would go in wall for the front, but have to do ceiling on this one?

Welcome to the forum!
In- ceiling is the worst scenario but if you're stuck with it, a custom (or production one that fits nicely under the display) sound bar to at least keep the dialog coming from the right direction will minimize the worst aspect of an IC setup.
KEF makes some motorized in ceiling speakers that swing down in use to point the drivers at the listening position but are a budget buster.
There are other IC's that tilt the woofer inside their enclosure toward the LP
does the sub have to be IC as well?
A picture of the area the display mounts would help. You could look at these:
InwallTech HD-650.1A High Definition 6 1/2" Angled Ceiling Theater Virtually Invisible Speakers
HTD High Definition In-Wall and In-Ceiling Speakers
Others will chime in on the subject.
Cheers, Mac

Just added a couple links to my original post.
For the sub, I'd recommend something from the better ID manufacturers like SVS, HSU, Rythmic, etc. all are solid products with good customer service. I wouldn't recommend Polk for a sub as the value/ performance factor isn't there.
Cheers, Mac
