AV Receiver that can do this.

I'm looking for a Marantz receiver that will be able to do 6.1 where it has the rear which is shown in purple.
This is because I have replaced my Center speaker and want to use it for the rear speaker.

Any 7 channel receiver should do this, you will find it in the manual, it will say something like, "set to 1 ch rear, use the left rear channel for summed output of l and r rears...."

I would think twice about a rear center, I haven't heard one I liked... there are a few articles why not to put a speaker directly behind the listener...

I would not be too optimistic about a rear center speaker.

I think his best bet would be to just straighten out the surrounds with the listening position and go 5.1
