I own a 60'' LED Sharp Aquos, a Sharp Blu-Ray player, a Klipsch Icon SB1 sound bar and a phone line HD receiver. How do I hook them all together? I have all the HDMI cords I need and and optic cord. I am having a difficult time connecting them and I'm about to pull my hair out....HELP PLEASE!!!

Welcome to the forum, Michael!

That sound bar only has an optical input and a left/right RCA input, so I suggest connecting the blu-ray player and HD receiver to the TV using HDMI, and then connect the TV to the sound bar using the optical cable. Not all TVs can pass 5.1 audio from an HDMI input through the optical audio output, but some can. What is the model number of your TV?

Thanks for the reply...I'm at my work place now so I can't get the model number. I did the set up like you said and I get the picture from the blu-ray to come across just fine but no sound from the blu-ray movie playing, only the sound of whatever channel is on the tv....this seems to be something simple that I'm missing but I can't figure this out for the life of me. The manuals say there are three ways of hooking this up but never say how. I've been searching the web for diagrams, instructional videos, the company's websites, youtube videos and even called my cable company and they said they can't help because they said there are hundreds of TV's and it's impossible to tell how....which made no sense to me at all. I really don't want to have to spend $$$ on Geek Squad to do this when I know I can do this myself but I may have too. Any other other advice would be appreciated.

I'll need a little clarification. You say that you see video from the blu-ray player (and I'm assuming that you see it on the TV in question), but then you say that the audio is from whatever channel the TV is on. Isn't the TV set to the video input for the blu-ray player in this scenario?

That is correct. I have the HD receiver hooked to HDMI 1 on the back of the tv and the blu-ray hooked to HDMI 2 on the back of the tv. I have the input on the tv set to the HDMI 2 and the blu-ray movie picture comes across fine but the sound I get is from the TV channel (whatever the channel is that's on) I have the digital optic cord hooked to the back of the tv and to the digital optic on the sound bar. This should work according to manuel but its not. Working fine when I'm watching regular tv but not getting the sound from the movie. This is frustating too because I am trying to describe the situation the best I can...wish I could draw out a diagram for you. I have 3 HDMI ports on the TV and tried them all.

You're doing a fine job of describing it, so no need to get frustrated. :) When you get back home, feel free to post the model number of the TV and I (or someone else) will check out the manual and see if anything catches our attention. Also, please post the model number of the blu-ray player. I want to check if (a) that TV can be set to always output sound from the same input regardless of what you're watching and (b) if the Sharp player needs to have a setting changed to output audio over HDMI.

I have looked through the Aqos manual and all those TVs are configured the same. Under the audio HDMI set up the audio inputs should be set to auto select.

If it is and he still has the problem, I wonder if the digital out is combined with the ARC. Only HDMI 1 has ARC and that is the one he is using for for his TV receiver. I would set ARC to off, as he is not using it anyway. If he still has the problem after that then the TV is defective and may also have a design flaw.

I mistyped some info...I have a SONY Blu-Ray model BDP-S390. I did some reconnecting and can get the TV to work but the problem is the Blu-Ray player. I went into settings on the TV and on the Blu-Ray player and tried to set to the HDMI but still no sound. I was thinking that maybe I need a small receiver to plug all of my components into and then connect the receiver to the TV??? If not then I guess I have to make the dreaded call to Geek Squad. I did get picture and sound by using some RCA connectors but it's not a HD picture and the sound is not quality.

That blu-ray player has a number of different audio settings that we can try, but let me first ask something that I forgot to ask before - if you don't use sound bar, but instead the TV speakers, do you get audio from the blu-ray player?
