Speaker static on Sarah's "River"

I've been falling in love with Sarah Mclachlan's song called River. I've noticed some static at around 1:10 into the song. I am sure it is the recording but but not 100% sure. I've tried playing other music and I've heard no static. At first, I noticed it listening to the song on itunes so I bought the CD. I played the CD and it is still there.... Do you hear this static as well on this track?

Another question - If the recording is flawed (static) can this harm the speakers?

Thanks,

A

If it is there in multiple forms of media, then there's a good chance it is the track. I just listened to two different versions on Youtube and there is no static at 1:10 though. Check your system with headphones?

Hmmm I listened with headphones and no static. BUT, it's the only song that I've noticed static on. Does this mean my tweeter is damaged?

Funny story. I have an Elton John CD where at least one song, when fed from my PS3, made it sound like I had put a piece of paper on top of the tweeter that was buzzing. No problem with other sources from the PS3, and no problem with that CD from an attached CD player. Sometimes odd things happen.

That means your processor is running out of its. That track must have been mastered right up to the limit. I never master that way. However it is running your processor out of bits. That does cause distortion products that could damage your speaker.
