Help needed with setting up my sound system (original, I know)

Hey everyone, this is my first post here so apologies if I go about this the wrong way. I'm currently looking to invest in some floor speakers, a new receiver, and possibly a subwoofer if necessary. I live in a small 800 sq ft house so the system doesn't need to be crazy powerful. This will all be used for a turntable 90% of the time, iPod the other 10%. Here's where I'm currently at in the thought process:

Speakers
Klipsch KF-26 on sale for $175 each tomorrow
or
Pioneer SP-FS52 for $125 each

Subwoofer
Pioneer SW-8MK2
or
Polk PSW110

Receiver
Not a clue. This is where I could use the most input.

Any feedback, pros/cons, etc. would be fantastic. Thank you!

I cannot comment on the Klipsch towers. The Pioneer towers are very well reviewed and buyer are rarely dissatisfied.

IMO, neither sub is worth it.

What is your budget for a sub and receiver?

Solid question, I should've mentioned this in the OP. My entire budget is probably right around $800-900, including shipping.

Are you looking for purely two channel use or are hoping for 5.1 either now or in the future?

I think I'd like the possibility of moving to 5.1 at some point in the future, although I don't own a TV and don't plan on buying one any time soon so that's not really a main focus of mine. Two floor speakers and a sub would be perfect for the time being.

As an update, I went ahead and purchased the Klipsch speakers since they're half off today. If I wind up being disappointed by them I can just take them back, I have a Best Buy in town.

At this point though I REALLY need some receiver advice. I'd be willing to spend $300-400. I keep seeing posts about Denon and Onkyo, any suggestions within this range? What about this Denon AVR-E300 that's on sale right now for $275?

If you don't mind refurb, A4L has the X1000 for $300 shipped. You don't need to upgraded for a long time. The feature of note putting it on the top of my list, Audyssey XT.

Thanks so much agarwalro, this looks perfect for me. I guess the only questions I have left would be subwoofer recommendations ($250 max at this point) and the dumbest question yet...speaker wire. I've done some searching around on this forum and I feel like I'm losing more knowledge than I'm gaining. With my current set-up (which won't change for at least two years) I wouldn't need any more than 10ft per floor speaker. Any input?

Sorry to jump in here late or confuse YAB, but here is a great deal on a Yamaha receiver at Amazon.

Amazon.com: Yamaha RX-V673 7.2-Channel Network AV Receiver: Electronics

Also for cable, check out Blue Jeans Cable -- Quality Cables at Reasonable Prices

And, for the sub, EMP is having a great sale, EMP Tek ES10i Subwoofer.
That is a great deal on that Yamaha receiver. A new Yamaha RX-V673 for $299.95 delivered is really impressive. But one must buy today, or the price goes up.

Hey guys, weird reason to bump this but agarwalro sent me a PM and the boards won't let me message him back. It keeps telling me he doesn't allows PMs to his account. I had a few questions for him since getting my gear in, so this is just to let him know if he sees this. Go ahead and ignore if you're not agarwalro, thanks!
