Yamaha HTR 5840 Issues

Well my Yamaha HTR 5840 running a 5.1 system seems to be having some issues...

Before I could blast the volume without problems and it would play fine, but now when I proceed to even going loud and there is anything other than dialogue playing (even moderate music and bass) it just shuts off hard it makes a click before it goes off. When I turn it back on it simply states "Check SP Wires" and resumes. When I start watching the material again at the a similar volume it does the same thing but when I turn it down fairly low... to a point I really dont enjoy, it runs fine.

Any advice?

'Check SP wires' is a good suggestion. It sounds like it could be a short in one of the wires causing the receiver to shutdown. It could also be stray wires from one speaker wire touching metal or another speaker wire.
