was considering building these speakers and from what i can tell from the cross over these would be 4 ohm, is this correct.
if so are there any modifacations that can be made to make them 8 ohm?
the woofers and mids are 8 ohm eac and the tweeter is 4 ohm.

No you can't, not with those drivers.

Note that the woofers are in reverse polarity, to prevent a null at the woofer mid crossover. This is undesirable. If these speakers are used with other speakers in an HT situation, they will not work, as it will be impossible to avoid an out of phase situation.

Thanks for the reply. I would have never figured that out until it was too late.
What would you recomend for a good set of ht diy speakers?

Madisound have an offering of superior kits. I particularly recommend the Thor kit.

And so do Zalytron.

Parts express have some more modest offerings.

I'm working on a project for these forums on a reasonably priced TL system. However due having to replace the plumbing due to Chinese junk and two heavy snowfalls last week totaling 3 feet, and a family illness I'm behind. After my son's wedding on the 25th of this month I hope to go full steam ahead.

With a name like Thor you can never go wrong. The name Thor just implies much ass kickery going on. :D
