Hey yet another question,

I am actually ordering banana plugs to rectify this, yet am curious (just to learn)

My wire is to thick to go into my amp

Will cutting the edges off so that the wire is thinner reduce quality?

Just curious ( as I said this will soon be rectified)

Thanks :)

It depends on how thick the wire is to begin with and how much you're cutting, but the answer is that it very probably will not affect sound quality. Nonetheless, your issue is one reason why I always favor a proper termination at both ends of a speaker wire. The others are contact integrity, safety (no stray strands that could shorts), and a lower probability of oxidation.

OR you could just get the correct size wire. One thing you didn't ask is what is the appropriate size wire for what you are doing.
