What is the verdict on DSU?

Does it sound better/worse than DPL II?
Does the lack of music/movie modes make a difference?
Does any receiver implement the new center channel width?

For a normal 5.1/7.1 layout (no height/ceiling) for stereo sources, do the new Atmos receivers sound better?

I've seen comments that DSU is superior to the previous DPL IIx/z stuff even in only 5.1 or 7.1 but that was a while ago so I'll hang out as well to see what the scoop is....but not really going to go get an avr just for that either when I'm not going the ceiling route....

Yes it is superior, far better sound placement and movement, plus better sound expansion into the rear channels when playing 5.1 content on a 7.1 system.
