Warner Bros. Announces F.E.A.R. 3
By Mike Sharkey | Apr 8, 2010

Co-op play, new cover system, and horror heavyweights in Alma's new nightmare.

Alma is back, and with the help of a few friends, Warner Bros. promises she's scarier than ever. Writer/director John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing) and comic book scribe Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) are on board with Day 1 Studios for F.E.A.R 3.

Warner Bros. Interactive announced the paranormal horror title today, revealing super solider Point Man and telepath Paxton Fettel from the original F.E.A.R. are back, and this time they're working together. F.E.A.R. 3 will feature single player and co-op modes, allowing gamers to take on the supernatural with a friend.

"Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is evolving the F.E.A.R. brand with top horror, co-op and first person shooter combat in F.E.A.R. 3," Martin Tremblay, president of Warner Bros. Interactive, said in a statement. "Monolith Productions has passed the torch to Day 1 Studios to create a quality, powerful game that stays true to the roots of the F.E.A.R. franchise but takes players to a heightened level of gameplay."

Helping create that heightened level are Carpenter and Niles. Carpenter directed the title's in-game cinematics and Niles co-write the script.

F.E.A.R. 3 launches on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Windows PC this fall.

Fun series, but I didn't buy the 2nd game. Two demos out for 2 and both are fun.
