Audioholics recomends, in one of the many subwoofer articles, that crossover should be set to 150 and phase set to 0.

Most subwoofer recomendations from other sources, say different.

Which settings are more commonly used in a small room???

You need to measure a sweep with both phase settings before you know which phase setting is best. Until you do measurements, it is just guesswork. Alternatively, you could just go with whichever phase setting sounds best to your ears. The crossover setting depends on your system. You should set the crossover to 'out' if you are using a receiver that has bass management. If you don't have an 'out' setting for the crossover, set it as high as it will go -IF you have bass management. You need to follow the instructions on your receiver.
