I have a LG LCD TV 42LH40-VA. My problem is.... I am getting new hearing aids shortly that are bluetooh capable. If I can figure out what I need to make my Tv stream audio, I will be able to watch tv again. The new hearing aids have a remote control that will let me raise and lower volume in my ears only, everyone else will not have to put up with loudness. LG tells me that the tv is not bluetooth but I can get a transmitter and attach it to Tv. The transmitter must support PCM Stereo 2.0 channels and AC3 2.1 channels because that's the formats the Optical Audio Output supports. Can someone in simple talk tell me what I need to buy for the TV and what to do with it?Thanks

Hi and welcome to audioholics, I have a similar hearing aid set up and the range is only about 36 inches from my phone to the receiver. I don't know if it'll work for what you have in mind but the hearing aids alone will help you pick up the dialogue in the TV without having to turn the set up too loud.
Cheers, Scotty Mac
