Speaker calibration via AVR

I just got new PBS Imagine X2T Speakers for my HT Room. Right off I noticed I had to turn up the Volume much higher for normal listening than my previous Speakers ( Polk Monitor ll 60s ) My initial Volume had been set at -35 After running YAPO on my Yamaha A1020, it set the mains to around 0 db. That resulted in my normal listening now having to be around -25 My question is when increasing Speaker output with the Setup say 3 db, what exactly is going on? Is this the same as turning up the Volume? Does doing this affect
the sound quality?

Both the Polks and the PBS sensitivity are 90 and 8 Ohms. The X2Ts are larger and have more Drivers so I can see that it takes a bit more to drive them, but a 10 db difference seems a lot.

No worries. If it sounds good and gets loud enough for you, it is fine. Peace and goodwill.
