Slim Receiver Challenge

Another idea, but not a cheap one:

Replace all the Paradigms with active (self-powered) speakers. Add a slim pre/pro. The Emotiva UMC-1 is only 3 7/8" tall. And that's without removing the feet.

that's basically what i suggested, except in my scenario you make the paradigms active.
