Rhyme or reason to SACD and DVD-A pricing?

Yesterday, I went to amazon.com to grab a few SACD and DVD-I was stunned at the variability in prices. For instance, I grabbed a new Floyd DSOM SACD for $9.99 but the Eagles Hotel California was anywhere from $150-$200. Whats up with that? Neil Young's Harvest was also up there at $125. Yet the Dead's American Beauty could be had for $35. Anyone know?

It would have to be about scarcity of the titles. The ones that are out of print yet still in demand would command a higher price.

I sometimes go to http://www.htfcds.com to search for out of print CDs and the prices they ask for some of them are extremely high. I've been fortunate to get them off EBay for a whole lot less.

Order Neil Young Harvest on DVD-A from the UK marketplace sellers and it's only 13.75 + 3.08 shipping, which is ENG#16.83 or US$32.69

You're right though, some of those prices are friggin' ridiculous.

Keep your eye on eBay for Eagles - http://cgi.ebay.com/1-CENT-DVD-AUDIO-Eagles-Hotel-California-OUT-OF-PRINT_W0QQitemZ280197774109QQihZ018QQcategoryZ617QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
