replacing speaker on subwoofer

I bought the Boston Acoustics MCS 160 new several months ago and have been impressed with it's performance, unfortunatly I cracked the speaker on the subwoofer during a move. So now I'm looking into replacing just the speaker and found the Boston Acoustics G108 online which seems to fit the MCS160 subwoofer speaker hole alignment

However I have a couple of concerns:

1) the MCS160 subwoofer is rated at 100 watts RMS and the replacement G108 is rated at 200 watts RMS. Should I be concerned that the circuitry of MCS160 subwoofer will be strong enough to push the 200 watt G108 enough that it will handle as well or better than the OEM MCS160 subwoofer?

2) the impeadance of the MCS160 subwoofer isn't listed in the owners manual so I was wonder if I should be concerned with the 4 ohm replacement?

Thanks

Your best bet is to contact Boston Accoustics. They can likely sell you a replacement speaker and it will likely not be to expensive. If it is no longer available they could likely recommend a another good option.

Usually not a good idea to drop the driver from a different design into what you have unless you can compare the actual specs of both and power handling would not necessarily be one of the first to use. I agree with Jeff, get in touch with Boston and order the correct driver if possible.
