My friend and I are going to shop for a new flat screen within the next few days and right now it's looking like the budget is around $2000-$2600. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated as I haven't been up to date with any of the new TV's lately.

I would look into the Pioneer Plasma displays with that type of budget, or the Panasonic TH-42PZ700U, or TH-42PZ750U. All will give superb performance.

I just bought a 42" Panasonic Plasma the TH-42PX75U. Paid $1100. If your looking to save a little money. I'd would def reccomened this TV. Picture quality is outstanding. If you set with the +$2000, I would go with a Pioneer. In the end there picture quality is even better than the Panasonics, but your defenitely gonna pay for the best.

Thanks...I think at the moment we are swaying towards the Pioneer Elite.

We ended up with the Elite and I am definitely not disappointed and wouldn't settle for anything less. I don't notice any of the problems that I usually see with most other flat screen televisions and the picture is beautiful. Thanks.
