possible clipping issue

That's a step in the right direction as Stereo won't send a lfe signal.
actually on the yamaha it's more of a 2.1 mode... pretty stupid, i know...

so... i accidentally fixed the problem somewhat.... i guess the receiver was sending some of the bass to the main channels...
but.... i think im gonna lower the crossover on the sony down to 80Hz just in case...

but anyways... rattling noise... could that have been me clipping the amp?

I've never heard rattling from clipping but never say never. Push down on the sub cabinent while you use it to see if it goes away.
