Polk R-300 - the difference a crossover makes

I've not seen or heard of an R500. The R50 seems to be the cream of the R series crop. It is available from Fry's all day long for $70 ea. It has tweeter on top, then two mids. TMM?

Well, It's tempting, but I suspect there really isn't that much of a market for a mod. Excuse my alliteration. I am enjoying my tricked out R300's, though. They're certainly more accurate than a well regarded $1k/pair monitor someone just sent me for an audition.

Someone else posted a modified crossover design for the R30.

I'd like to put this together and install it into my R30s, but I'm concerned that it might alter the balance across the front with my CSi25. Is that something I shouldn't worry about?
