I'm guessing so, as I get a green screen... sound still works. It's not the tv, it works fine connected through the same HDMI cable directly to tivo. Switched the HDMI cable to the other output, same issue. DVD and computer HDMI input, same issue.

Open to any other new brand suggestions.

Including potential replacements :)

Living room is set up 5.1. Since I've gone to all digital, the outdoor and garage speakers no longer work. Those required analog sources.

Have Sirius account that hasn't worked on the receiver for quite awhile, apparently not an uncommon problem?

obviously have a Tivo (newer unit)
BR DVD player that has been used once in the last 12 months
Wii that keeps the shelf under it dust free
Fairly capable PC
QNAP 453 server that was never hooked to the receiver, with a ton of digital media.

Sorry to hear, but before you give up have you tried a reset?

Resetting the system
Use this procedure to reset all the receiver's settings to the factory default. Use the front panel controls to do this.
Set MULTI-ZONE to MULTI ZONE OFF.
! Disconnect the iPod and USB memory device from the receiver beforehand.
! Set the Control with HDMI to OFF (see
HDMI Setup
1
Switch the receiver into standby.
2
While holding down ENTER on the front panel, press u STANDBY/ON.
The display shows RESET c NO d.
3
Select 'RESET' using PRESET k/l, then press ENTER on the front panel.
The display shows RESET? OK.
4
Press ENTER to confirm.
OK appears in the display to indicate that the receiver has been reset to the factory default settings.

Does sound like your hdmi board took a crap...

I like this one at the low end of your budget and this one at the other end.
I really wanted the 6300... but even in my head, couldn't justify the cost over the 4300... which I ordered.

Wife's happy, I'm happy... life is good :)

Thank you everybody!

The 4300 is no slouch either. You made a great choice!
