Optimizer indicator (RX-V1400/2400)

How do you turn the optimizer indicater off? I would like to hear the difference BTW the auto set-up and my own. I thought you used the PEQ & GEQ option. But, when I switch to GEQ, the optimizer indicator on the display remains on.

Also, is there a way to set unit back to factory settings without leaving the unit unplugged for a week?

You also have to turn off the speaker distance/level/size etc. after you changed those variables, the icon will dissappear.

You could reset it by using a null-modem cable and a program (www.omei.de for a non-official version, google: "yamaha receivereditor" for a official yamaha program, there's also a schedule of the rs232 configuration, if you want to make a null-modem cable)
