Got in the OPPO DV-970HD upconverting dvd player yesterday. I can't tell you enough how much I am impressed with this unit. I had been using a Panasonic and a Pioneer DVD player/Recorder and was always very satisfied with the picture on both of those units. I was only expecting a minimal increase in PQ with the OPPO but was very pleasantly surprised. The picture quality was upgraded to 1080i so well that it was hard to tell the difference between DVD's and HDTV. This is a unit that does just about everything including DVD-A and SACD. No, I am not a shill for OPPO. I do believe that the OPPO dvd player is the best kept secret in town. I am using a Hitachi 65 inch 65S700 CRT hdtv.
