What happens when you add NHT's Super 8 subwoofer to their legendary SuperZero bookshelf speakers? You get the Super Stereo system: a compact, high quality 2.1 setup perfect for small rooms. The best part? The MSRP is a very reasonable $600 and it's currently available for $499. How does this decor & budget friendly system rate with the Audioholics? Keep reading to find out.

Nice marketing article - however a little so-called optimistic

It would be a small miracle if the SuperZero could hit -3db at 105 hz - also the
87 db sensitivity, seems so-called optimistic. The origional 2.0 could not even
muster -3 db at 85 hz > and both boxes are about the same size. The 2.0 was
    around 110 hz.

The SuperZero may give you some bass if flushed against the wall. I am a former
    owner of the 2.0 SuperZero.

However, with that said - NHT does make some nice stuff.

What is really attractive to me now - is the Focal Sib on close-out pricing at AC4L,
and the Sib comes with built-in stands for shelf or wall mounting. Also, they have
a bigger woofer - and the sats sell for $199 a pair (close-out). The Sib and Cub 3
    sub/sat system is $699.

These are 2 nice options - for some one looking on the smaller size of things.

Good deal - nice to see that a preview will be turned into a review.

Correction, the 2.0 was around 110 hz at -3 db > not 110 db :)

    I did edit my post

I have the SuperZero 2.0s matched with a Velodyne DEQ-8R, and it sounds fantastic. I think my Velodyne is a bit more capable than the Super 8 sub, but both have a high pass filter that I think really helps integrate the SZ 2.0s. Looking forward to this review, they are a great speaker and at the current price it's a great deal for a smaller room system.

Generally I'm not a fan of video reviews, but I don't mind them with one exception: get rid of the music intro:eek: or at least cut it off AS SOON AS you start talking. Please!! Love NHT though- specially the legacy stuff.

    Thanks.

The super 8 sub has an upper F3 of 210 Hz.
But any idea on the harmonic distortion upto that freq ? Can one use crossover of 210Hz with this sub ?
Does anybody have THD measurements for this sub ?

    Thanks!!!
