Need help setting up filename transliteration

Basically, when I try to stream files from my mac to my windows pc, windows ignores files with characters like "?" in them.

Someone recommended to setup Filename Transliteration but I haven't found a good tutorial. Can anyone help?

Another possibility for the Mac is "A Better Finder Rename" to rename your files into a Windows-friendly format before they are streamed to your Windows machine. I use it extensively for batch renaming of files.
