HA!! Sorry sorry sorry Downfalls of multi tasking... $1100 each
Steve, It's totally your right to set whatever price you seem fit and starting high is one way to do things.
But here's how I calculate the value:
1) Since I don't know your purchase date, I'm going to assume you bought them on first year - ie 2014, so these could be 3 years old
2) Original price, which included FREE shipping, was $
1250 (or less if bought at intro prices). These are big and heavy subs so i expect roughly $150. per sub of their price was in shipping cost.
3) PSA Warranty is 5 years and it is transferable, but (assuming) 3 years old sub, leaves only 2 years of warranty on the product
4) Used product value depreciation/appreciation: Well, It's near impossible to calculate exact depreciation, but I think 10% per year used is decent place to start at. I can't see any reasons for value appreciation since there no scarcity for this product. Original xs30se was discontinued and replaced with more pricy but superior model, so it's not apples to apples. Another possible reason for higher pricing of newer model is reduced competition from closed doors Reaction audio.
5) Alternatives, besides s3000i one example (not identical, but close) would be a single driver sealed 15" HSU's ULS-15mk2. I am fully aware that XS30se would have more output, but not 2x more. ULS 15m2 dual drive costs about same as s3000i, but would provide more linear bass response in rooms.
Just few thoughts for potential buyers...
