MIT & their little boxes...whats the deal?

Before I get into it, this website has helped me more in 6 months time than the previous decade of 'general survey' ever could. So thanks for that!

One thing I'm curious about, though, is all the TrekTech MIT has on their website (http://www.mitcables.com/technology.asp)...already knowing it is, at best, a non-factor, I still would like to know more about 1) Their reasoning, flawed or not; and 2) What the actual results of their engineering happen to be.

I've seen some posts that say the network boxes act as a low-pass filter, some say its a RFI shield, and others that say nothing specific at all. Simply looking for further education...thanks much!

Looks like a bunch of BS to me. Sorry, but I don't have any input for you, except that.:)

A while back I saw something on a site where the guy had actually purchased some of those cables and disassembled the boxes.
After seeing what wasn't in them I know that even with Bill Gates' money I wouldn't buy them.

Do you remember the site? I've got the curiosity bug and it won't go away. ;)

from what i recall, the cable that was taken apart was a transparent opus ($23k). inside the box was a lot of glue that looked like snot. once peeled away, there was a small zobel network installed between the wires. never heard these cables and i don't have 23 large to drop on a set of wires so i can't comment on the "value" of the cables. the original link is:

it's in swedish and the pictures are broken links though.

I used to have the URL for the English translation. I'll see if I can find it again.

I'm just trying out some MIT cables and they sound pretty good but will need to do a back to back comparison to be sure.
