I've hooked up a media player to my Denon AVR S700w and the video playback blanks in and out. Is there any way I can prevent this. Use HDMI cable with set-up

Exactly what model of media player and how is it connected?

Audio and video dropouts usually are caused by deficient HDMI cables. They need to be Certified High Speed, but you don't need to get expensive boutique brands like Monster.

Some models of media players simply don't work well with the repeater HDMI chips used in AVRs. I've seen quite a few reports recently about problems with some models of Roku media players.

Thank you for your reply. I'm presently using the Probox 2, previously the Gbox (Matricom) and experienced the problem with both. When I hooked them up directly to the TV I had no issues. I will do as you suggest and upgrade my HDMI cables and see if that helps, other than that I will know that it is a deficiency with the AVR as you have stated. Thanks again!!!!!
