From what I understand they aren't getting too much use anymore anyway.

Bit, I DID revisit Micky Dees. The muffin was crisper. I don't think they even toasted the last one but, even toasted somewhat, it still seems a bit thicker and doughier than I last remember, which would be at least 6 - 8 months ago.

To me, what I liked about the McMuffin was the high filling:bread ratio. I think that's been altered.
Your senses might be changing too. I know some things I used to love just don't taste the same anymore. I suspect it's part of that refining of the palette. Certainly a chicken honey butter biscuit from whataburger would change the flavor of the McMuffin. Oh how I miss my morning kolaches from West, Texas.

Bleagh!!! The muffin was now a thick, doughy, pasty, soft piece of bread with barely a crust that barely bore a resemblance to the muffin they had used the last time (and for years before) without change. At least the potatoe patty was still good but I ain't going there just for that.
Don't despair you got a McGriddle by mistake. The McMuffin is unchanged
