I have major space constraints and a slim budget of $800-1000 for my system. 70% tv, 20% movies and 10% music. I have to have wall mounted speakers and they need to be pretty small. The largest speakers I can fit for my front 3 channels are the Paradigm Cinema 220 V.3, so I'm thinking 3 of the 220's for the front. I've heard the 110 and like the sound so i'm betting the 220's will be just fine for my use (i'm no audiophile). Only going 3.1 for now since my sofa is on the back wall and i'm going to have to look into other options maybe in walls

So I can get 3 220's for $400 shipped but they have a package deal which has the below for $800 shipped.

3 Paradigm Cinema 220 V.3 (front)
2 Paradigm LS-25 speaker stands (I don't need these)
1 Mission MS-8 Subwoofer
1 Denon AVR-1611 A/V receiver

So i need a AVR and a sub I know the Denon 1611 is a decent unit that should meet my needs but what about the Mission sub, can't find much on it.

Should i get the package or can i do better with my $400-600 left for a sub and avr?

Thanks for the help.

That's a tough call, since it seems like a decent package deal. The weak link to me is the sub as it's -3dB point is at 38Hz. That's ok for most music, but you're missing a bit for decent HT enjoyment. And if you're not interested in 3D, the 1611 isn't necessary.

Look at these options to keep within budget and improve the low-end experience.

I guess since my Samsung LN52A750 isn't a 3D tv I could save a few bucks on my AVR and use that for a better sub.

Thanks for the help.

Anyone have other suggestions for small speakers front channel speakers, an AVR and sub for $1000.

Just like AVRAT said the weak part is the sub..pls do your self a favour and dont accept a mission subwoofer in your set up...i owned one..''years ago'' but all i had with it was issues and problems..it ended up to blow up and almost put my apartment on fire!..lmao.......so exept for the mission sub i would say this is a nice little set up since Paradigm is a good and trusted company...(and no i also like other companies and most of them are American ones!..)...so if you can buy a sub on the side and get another brand for the sub i would say its cool!..since i dont know what your dealer has for subs and for the price i cant suggest you anything...but anyway good luck to you and happy new year!!!;)

You might want to consider:

Emotiva Ultra Series 12 Sub for 429.99 (Free Shipping) and
Yamaha RX-V1900 595.00 (Sweet Deal on a heck of an AVR) See Amazon for details.

I heard that Audioholics is about to release an impressive review of the Emo sub. There are other subs from SVS that would fit the bill as well IMO.

Good Luck!

Guys, he only has $1K for EVERYTHING!! nadeaux, the Paradigms are a good deal and another LCR setup that would fit in if you went with the Denon/Dayton would be the SVS SBS/SCS-02 combo. http://www.svsound.com/products-spks-sbs01.cfm

If you want something a little better than the Dayton sub, you'll need to pony up a bit more cash. http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/stf-2.html

Personally, I think the Paradigm/Denon/Dayton combo would suit your fancy just fine.
