thank you for the google search link but I already had google it and read the 1st few of the pages that came up.
I was hoping there was a more details page that might be recommended by members here and not necessarily listed in the 1st few pages of google.

I wasn't being a wiseguy.:) I think all you need to know to set levels is in that link. If you need to get more indepth maybe a pro calibrator could help.

If you want to get an excell spreadsheet that uses RS SPL meter correction factors to plot system frequency response, there if on referenced in the BFD forum at the AVS site. It also describes how to use the BFD parametric equalizer using the RS SPL meter.

db). Decibels are the relative measure of a sound’s loudness or intensity
Is it the Radio Shack analog SPL level meter?

You set it to "C" Weighting, and "Slow" Response. Then you set the "Range" at 70db. And you try to adjust all your channels so they read 75db in the meter display.

Here's a couple good links about some quich tips and a table of Correction Values for that Shack Meter.

1. Correction Values for Radio Shack Meter:

2. Radio Shack SPL Compensation Chart:

*** If you have problems acceding the second link from SVS (their site does sometimes get erratic); then just get this third link, and just look at the #8 question, by scrolling down.

I know what decibels are but you didn't specify what would be measured in your title or post.
