But I paid for 4 streams. For 15 years Netflix allowed you to use your streams however you saw fit. Constantly being challenged if you are on the go with what they consider to not be a mobile device is a serious PITA for starts.
From what I hear PC's and phones aren't part of the challenge but Smart TV's and things like streaming boxes are.
No one has stolen anything from Netflix when they've paid for 4 streams and the consume 4 streams.

I've had Netflix a long time too. You are on the up and haven't stolen anything from Netflix. I get it. However, I'd be hard pressed to believe you never met anyone who isn't "mooching" or "sharing" a streaming service. I didn't realize my sister was. I've even met people where one household subscribes to a couple of streaming channels and another a different set then they "share." This is actually a premeditated crime.
Unfortunately, I don't believe for a minute this is going to be a Netflix only thing. Two-factor authorization, for instance, was and is a PITA. Everyone is doing now too. Moreover, they're assuming you have, and have access to, a phone or an email account at all times. I've been overseas without good phone access. The alternative was to use an email account. But the email account wants to do a two-factor authorization or send an email to another account, which... You get the point. All three I've been with for 20+ years. Talk about frustrating!
People validate their behavior by telling themselves its mooching or sharing, or the company is making a lot of money. It might even seem like a victimless crime. However, it's not and it's still theft. If I was Netflix I'd be trying to stop the 8 million plus people in the US (~2 billion dollars in revenue) who are stealing from me.
Hopefully technology can come up with an easier solution.
