Anybody have experience with these?

Thinking about buying a pair to connect to my Emotiva UPA-2. What do you all think? Will I be happy poolside this Summer?

I'm a fan of JBL and I'd suggest ordering them and listening to them. It's your ears that can judge them only. Like other brands one speaker may sound good but the other may not. You can always return them back to amazon.

Not a big fan of the JBL Control sound - however, decent enough for
pool side.
Also, throw some of these in the pool.

Not sure if they're exactly the same model, but the campus bar has some similar JBL speakers that are rather unimpressive. Really thick, oozy bass distracts away from everything else.

That said, I really do want to audition this speaker:

Yeh, I've checked out the Control 30 as well. Its a beast but I can't justify spending that kind of money for this application.

Funny thing, I was helping my friend to sell a few pairs of the Control-30. I was asking $300.-- for the pair (he had 8 pairs) and could'nt sell one pair at that price. They where in like new condition. Maybe because they where white.
