My wife says no, but then again she also says it cuold be shorter as well. So should I use the 18 gauge 100 foot roll of speaker wire ( an estimated including slack, 66 total feet needed to run to the LS and RS / and 20 feet total for the L and R and another 10 for the sub ) or downgrade to a lesse gauge?

What'd you think I was talking about ............... perv

She's just trying to make you feel good.

Huh? I'm talkin' about your decision. What did YOU think I was talking about? :D

18 gauge will work but I'd use a thicker wire (lower gauge #) , at least for the surrounds. Be a big spender. The difference isn't that great. 16 gauge is better but 12 gauge is even better. Larger than that and you really go nutz and it becomes not cost effective.

ahhh see my total inexperience and lack of knowledge has reared its ugly head. I thought the lower the number the lesser the thickness of wire. This speaker wire I bought is the diameter of most peoples pinkys' I thought the thicker the wire the lsser the attenuation experienced, but is it too much for the smaller LS and RS?

**perhaps I should study up a little more on speaker gauges and such**
